RSM powerful with the bats
By Coach Heather Struve
South O’Brien’s pitching and defense was no match for the powerful bats of #5 State ranked Remsen St. Mary’s. As a team RSM is hitting at a .422 clip, the highest in the league. The Hawks had seven hits in just two innings of play. The June 12 game was called due to the 12-0 mercy rule in RSM’s half of the third inning.
Tawni Wulf and Allison Griebel split the game on the mound. Our defense was not ready to play tonight, as we committed six errors, four of them in the outfield. We were mentally beat before we got on the bus to travel to Remsen. The Wolverines only had 11 at bats for the game. Jinger Nieuwenhuis and Brooklyn Edwards were the only batters to reach base with a hit each.
