Mustangs’ big inning denies South O’Brien The Win
A six-run fourth inning was the difference for George-Little Rock as the Mustangs were able to collect a 10-4 victory over South O’Brien June 14 at George. With the loss, the Wolverines fell to 2-7 in the War Eagle Conference and to 4-11 overall.
A run was scored in the home half of the first but South O’Brien tied the game in the second and took a 2-1 lead in the third. The Mustangs answered with a run in the bottom of the third but the visitors tallied in the fourth to go back on top 3-2. George-Little Rock’s big inning put the team up 8-3 after four. The Mustangs added a run in the fifth which was matched by South O’Brien in the sixth. The home team tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to close out the scoring.
There were no South O’Brien stats available at press time. Stats from George-Little Rock showed the Mustangs collecting seven hits and drawing 11 bases-on-balls.
