Remsen St. Mary’s keeps rolling with win over Wolverines
The Remsen St. Mary’s baseball team staked itself to a 4-0 lead after one inning and went on to beat South O’Brien 11-1 in five innings June 12 at Remsen. With the win, the fourth-ranked Hawks improved to 13-1 on the season.
The Wolverines were limited to a pair of singles. Damian Villarreal and Gabe Moermond had the base hits. Moermond scored the unearned run. Ben Woodall and Brady Riedemann drew walks while Mitchell Enger and Jaden Kreber were each hit by a pitch.
Alex Griebel took the ball to start the game and went four innings. He allowed seven runs on seven hits with five walks and three hit batters. Just three of the runs were earned. Reliever Jaden Kreber gave up four runs on three hits, working 1-2/3 innings. He walked two batters and struck out one. Three of the four runs were earned. The Wolverines committed four errors on the night.
