The South O’Brien track and field girls got the season underway with a fourth-place finish at the Alta-Aurelia Early Bird Meet March 27 at Alta. The Wolverines scored 90 team points. The meet was won by the host Warriors and their 145 total.
Chloe Hustedt placed second in the 400 meter hurdles and joined Abby Nelson, Maeci Stevens and Tori Schueller on the runner-up shuttle hurdle relay team. The discus competition saw Taylor Wolf finish second and Tawni Wulf third.
Other individual third-place finishers were Schueller in the high jump, Kelsee Warnke in the 100 meters and Nelson in the 100 meter hurdles. Relays finishing third were the 4×100 of Warnke, Avery Halverson, Amelie Wilson and Camryn Strubbe, the 4×200 of Warnke, Schueller, Hustedt and Strubbe and the 4×800 of Reese Farquhar, Taylor Wulf, Raegan Plagge and Grace Keen.
