Iowa Lakes Community College Launches Two New SAIL Courses for Lifelong Learners
(Spencer, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College is excited to introduce two new enriching courses as part of the Stay Active in Learning (SAIL) program. Designed for lifelong learners, both classes will take place on the Spencer Campus starting in January 2025. Origin of Civilization (Class ID: 7969) begins January 13 and runs Mondays from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. Led by Mr. H. Schar, this course features “The Great Courses – Origin of Civilization,” with 48 lectures by Dr. Scott Menachem exploring archaeology’s revelations about humanity’s earliest civilizations.
The second course, Directed by Blake Edwards (Class ID: 7970), begins January 15, running Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. Dr. Kella Klinker-Simonin will guide participants through the legendary filmmaker’s works, including iconic collaborations with Henry Mancini and appearances by the Pink Panther, paired with engaging discussions. Each course costs $25, and registration is open now.
