Wolverine duo medal at WEC Boys Golf Tournament
Two Wolverine Boys Golfers earned War Eagle Conference medals at the conference tournament at Willow Creek in Le Mars on Monday, April 29. Junior Derek Paulsen placed 10th with an 82. Sophomore Alex Griebel placed 20th with an 87. Final all-conference teams will be announced at the end of the season.
Golfers in the WEC offer some stiff competition with the four guys at the top shooting in the 70s on a cold, windy day. Derek battled to stay in the mix but took extra strokes on a couple of holes that made the difference. Sophomore Alex Griebel played competitively today among some experienced upperclassmen. He is making a name for himself in the WEC.
Gehlen won the tournament, beating Akron-Westfield by just three strokes. The Wolverine Boys Golf Team finished seventh in a field of 11 teams.
