Christmas Gift Collection for Veterans and Families
The Paullina American Legion Auxiliary placed donation boxes in businesses throughout Paullina. The volunteer support organization this year is making its efforts very public.
The Auxiliary is collecting gifts for youth ages 1 to 15 years of age, as well as adults. (Sixteen and seventeen year olds will not be left out.) Once a box is full or close to Christmas, the boxes will be taken to the Veterans’ Affairs office in Primghar for distribution to the families.
Parents will be able to select gifts needed or wanted by their family members. Some gift wrap may also be provided to VA to be used as needed.
Hats, gloves, socks and underwear are always appreciated and often given. Wallets, purses, belts and suspenders have received little mention. Perhaps these basics would make good gifts for veteran’s this year. Toys, music and electronics, games and assorted clothing are always appreciated.
The VA in Primghar also offers a food pantry. Donations are accepted.
