South O’Brien FFA Back On The Road
The South O’Brien FFA Livestock Judging Team was back on the road to the Monona County Fair in Onawa.
Classes of breeding and market swine, beef and sheep were evaluated by the teams.
Bensen Rohwer, Dante Johnson, Leo Sells and Hunter Lange placed 3rd overall. MaKenna Wallin, Gabe Moermond, Kyan Kruse and Austin Negus were close behind in 4th, while Logan Dau, Jacob DeBerg, Hudson Oolman and Dain Moermond came in 6th.
Individually, Wallin was Reserve Champion and scored the same as Mr. Kumm with 285 out of 300 points, Lange 3rd and Sells 7th.
In the Adult Division, it was a rematch of the two Eric’s–Sioux Center FFA Advisor Koehomoos and South O’Brien FFA Advisor Kumm. The two had the same placings for breeding gilts, market lambs and breeding ewes, but differed in how they placed the other classes. When the scores were tabulated, it once again ended in a tie for 1st place, with Mr. Kumm winning the tie-breaker on having more perfect scores. Mr. Kumm’s parents also competed, with Carolee placing 5th and Jim 6th.
