Archer Sells Property
by Mari Radtke
Mayor Nathan Mueller reported to the Archer City Council on Tuesday November 12 work on Highland Avenue. Work will continue until it is complete.
A public hearing to sell property on Archer’s Main Street was opened. The city proposes to sell a commercial lot to Jeremy Rohwer. Rohwer operates a kettle corn business licensed to sell product produced on-site. He plans to produce packaged kettle corn and other sundries out of a plant he plans to construct at the Archer location. No comments were made about the sale of property. Council unanimously approved the sale including the requirement to build within 3 years.
The delinquent utility bill list has largely been cleaned up, according to City Clerk Sandy Fritz. She noted just 2 remaining outstanding accounts.
A snow plow driver was hired at $21.50 per hour. The driver is Jason Waggoner.
Council approved adding the railroad depot to its insurance policy at a rate of $888 per year.
Snow fence will be placed November 23. Volunteers are welcome. Burning the tree pile conducted by the Fire department served as training.
