Food and Fun for Halloween
by Mari Radtke
R. L. Johannsen Center Board of Directors planned and executed a full Saturday late afternoon and early evening for family fun. Games, prizes, activities, food and more filled the night for families. Several games were come and go. Throwing games, bowling games, giant checkers were all ways to test your skill and win prizes. Door prizes and drawings went to lucky winners.
Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins. Everybody who wanted to paint a pumpkin got to paint a pumpkin. Many painted more than one pumpkin. The Sutherland Library organized the pumpkin painting.
There were several games to play. Bowling, ring toss, skeet more were available to score big and win prizes. Plucking a duck for a prize drew lots of youngsters.
A costume contest brought out so much imagination. Kids of all ages worked to be a top choice of the judges. Families came dressed up also.
A special haunted house room was so dark and filled with creepy things in boxes and scared you when you touched them. Oooo. It was so gross! And lots of toys could be had at the end of the spooky room. Dinner was a free will donation for the taco in a bag bar.
At least 100 people attended.
