Paullina Dental Clinic Looking To Move To Expanded Quarters

Paullina has been well-served with high quality dental care for as long as anyone can remember. The community’s good fortune continues with a new generation taking the reins from Dr. Thomas Roed. Looking forward, Dr. Krayton Struve took over that role in the fall of 2024, soon after the birth of her first child. She approached the Paullina City Council soon after about the possibility to purchase the former MercyOne Medical Clinic. She, Dr. Jeff Joiner and Dr. Matthew Zwart all attended a Council meeting on March 17 to present their project that revolves around the purchase of the property at Main and Groesbeck. Struve explained the connection, “I went to Dr. Joiner and Dr. Zwart was my dentist growing up. I reached out to them while I was in dental school to help mentor me through the process of starting a dental practice.”
The current location in the 100 block of South Main has 1 hygiene room, 2 doctor operatories and 1 consultation room. The new space the goal is to add 1 additional hygiene room to the practice space.
A public hearing is scheduled for Monday April 7 in order for the sale of city property to proceed. Assuming the sale goes without disruption, Struve says they plan to move into the newer, larger facility in late summer or early fall of 2025.
Some renovation is needed in the new space, “to accommodate the space needed for a dental operatory. We are planning on doing some updates such as painting.” The practice will remain open during the renovations at its current location. The building is owned by Dr. Tom and Karen Roed. They will be looking at various options for a the future of the building.
Struve added, “We would like to thank the community for their support during our first 6 months of our transition from Dr. Roed to Paullina Dental Care. Paullina is such a great community to work in and we are excited to be expanding to care for more patients.
