In a boys wrestling quadrangular held January 14 at Storm Lake, Sheldon/South O’Brien picked up a win but suffered a pair of losses. The win came against Sioux City North by a score of 50-30. The Orabs’ losses were 63-15 to Woodbury Central and 58-20 to the host Tornadoes.
Going 3-0 on the day were Mitchel Fischer at 165 pounds and Jack Leng at heavyweight. Fischer pinned Storm Lake’s David Santos in 3:55 and North’s Lee Crouch in 1:10. He won a 13-9 decision over the Wildcats’ Camron Zellmer. As for Leng, he accomplished one of his wins by fall, pinning Woodbury Central’s Preston Zellmer in 2:25. He earned a 23-8 technical fall victory over the Stars’ Miskoo Petite and won a 4-1 decision over Storm Lake’s Kaeden Larson.
