Wolverine girls win South O’Brien Mid-Season Meet April 11, 2024

The South O’Brien track and field girls came out on top as hosts of the South O’Brien Mid-Season Meet held April 11 at Paullina. The Wolverines accumulated 140 points to outdistance runner-up MMCRU which finished with 127.
Winning individual events were Camryn Strubbe in the long jump and Macci Stevens in the 400 meter hurdles. No fewer than four relays placed first: the 4×100 of Addison Hedberg, Kelsee Warnke, Avery Halverson and Strubbe, the 4×800 of Elodie Wilson, Taylor Wulf, Reese Farquhar and Abby Woodall, the distance medley of Tawni Wulf, Warnke, Hedberg and Halverson and the shuttle hurdle of Marissa Ebel, Abigail Nelson, Tawni Wulf and Stevens.
Woodall finished second in the 800 meters and third in he long jump. The 100 meter hurdles saw Ebel place second and Nelson fourth.
Second place relays were the 4×400 with Hedberg, Halverson, Farquhar and Strubbe and the sprint medley consisting of Hedberg, Warnke, Halverson and Strubbe. Tawni Wulf was third in the discus and Taylor Wulf fourth. Also placing third were Warnke in the 100 meters and Amelie Wilson in the 200. Wilson joined BreLee Rasmussen, Averie Logan and Chloe Cox on the third-place 4×200 relay team.
