Wolverines host Cross Country Invitational



South O’Brien played host to area runners October 3 at the 36th Annual Wolverine Cross Country Invitational. The event was held at the Paullina Golf Club on Mill Creek.
The Wolverine boys finished fifth in the nine-team field, scoring 147 points. Sheldon posted a score of 21 to finish well ahead of second place Estherville-Lincoln Central, which scored 60 points.
Individually, freshman Landen Davenport earned a top-10 finish, placing eighth. Sophomore Trayton Cobb came in 22nd. Next were a pair of seniors as Bensen Rohwer finished 34th and Ethan Schwarz 42nd. Senior Caleb Buenger placed 51st, junior Asa Flinders was 55th and senior Bode Bailey finished 56th. In the JV race, sophomore Corbin Warnke earned a fifth-place finish.
South O’Brien’s senior duo competed in the girls varsity race. Hailei Wallinga placed 30th and Tricia Kilts finished 35th. ELC did capture first in the girls team competition, scoring 31 points.
