Highly rated Hinton sweeps past Wolverines
South O’Brien was presented with a tough challenge September 17, facing a ranked Hinton team on road at Hinton. The Blackhawks, ranked fifth in Class 2A, dispatched the visitors in three sets by scores of 25-9, 25-9 and 25-10. The loss dropped the Wolverines to 3-2 in the War Eagle Conference and 3-9 on the season.
Hinton standout Bailey Boeve smashed 19 kills with a kill efficiency of .586. Strong on defense as well, the Blackhawks recorded 13 total blocks.
The Wolverines got few chances to serve on the night, but when they did serve, the results were positive. South O’Brien was 27-of-29 as a team with 2 aces. Addi Hedberg served 7-of-7 with an ace and Taylor Wulf was 6-of-6.
