Archer Council Entertains Property Sale At September Meeting
by Mari Radtke
The Archer City Council made a final decision to proceed with delinquent disposal accounts. City Clerk Sandy Fritz presented a list as they most recent due date approached. It was a very long list. In August many had been paid, but questions remained. Some of the delinquent accounts had been certified to the property tax bill, but they should have been removed from outstanding accounts. Fritz will follow up with the county to find the status of those certified accounts. She will also work to find as many current addresses as possible. Nathan Rohwer had attended the council meeting in August and shared his interest in purchasing a piece of property from the city, and is still interested. After discussion council agreed to offer the property to Rohwer for $500 plus all closing costs. He will be given 3 years to complete his construction project or the property will revert back to the city.
Council accepted both the Street Financial Report for 2024 and the Annual Financial Report for 2024. Fritz noted to council that at the end of the fiscal year, there was a lot of legal expense, throwing the line item overbudget.
