Josh Biery and Nathan Bremer received 5% increase to their wages. Michelle Wilson and Alex Griggs both were awarded 10% increases. A sidebar discussion requested by Wilson was held. A public hearing was set for Monday August 5 at 5:30 to consider vacating of the right of way on Groesbeck and Canon Streets. The school’s north campus was built on a portion of the right of way. The situation was discovered during the final stages of the school district’s construction project. If the ROW is not vacated the district will have to build a brick wall on the property line and a portion of the existing building will belong to the city.
The first readings of all of the proposed utility price increases was removed fron the agenda due to barely a quorum in attendance. It was felt that such a consequential decision should be decided by more than a bare minimum of council members.
