GTRA overtakes Wolverines with late scoring flurry
Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire scored five runs in the sixth inning to snatch a victory from the hands of South O’Brien by the score of 8-4 June 25 at Ruthven. The Wolverines held a 4-3 lead after scoring two runs in both the first and fourth innings. The Titans tallied three times in the first but then were held scoreless through the next four innings.
Gabe Moermond went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI. Mitchell Enger had a hit, walked twice and was hit by a pitch. He scored two runs and drove in another. Damian Villarreal got a hit, drew a walk and scored a run. Brady Riedemann collected a hit and an RBI. Willie Conley also singled. Ryan Fuller drew three bases-on-balls and Jaden Kreber walked twice and scored a run. The Wolverines had six steals, led by Villarreal who swiped two basses.
Ben Woodall pitched all six innings. He allowed 10 hits, struck out five batters, walked three and hit two. Just two of the runs were earned. South O’Brien was guilty of two errors.
