Services for Weber H. Koester, age 92, of Paullina who passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Prairie View Home in Sanborn. His funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 5, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina with Rev. Donald Meyer ~ officiating.
Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina with military rights presented by the Russell West Post of the American Legion.
Visitation with family present will be from 4 to 6 P.M. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.
Weber Herman Koester, son of William Herman and Alma Anna Louise Miller Koester was born March 17, 1931, in the farm home 1 ? miles west of the Paullina Cemetery corner. Weber was the second youngest of four children, including Wanabelle, Wilma and Walter, all of whom preceded him in death.
He was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, IA. Weber attended the Paullina Public Schools, graduating in 1949. Weber was employed by several farmers and the Co-Op Elevator in Paullina before entering the U.S. Army in 1953 to 1955.
On December 29, 1952, Weber, and JoAnne Joyce Callenius were married in the Baker Methodist Church. In 1956 Weber and family moved to the family home. Six children blessed this union: Debra Anne, Pamela Jean, Gary Duane, Tracey Lynn, Cindy Gayle, and Janey Sue. JoAnne passed away suddenly on December 28, 1980. Weber married Harriet Joan Berger Polson on August 5, 1982. Joan added three children to the family: Cynthia Ann, Dale Duane, and Eric Brian. He farmed until he retired. Even in retirement he still had the love of farming in his heart, and enjoyed helping his son Gary, running the combine until he was eighty-five.
Weber was active as a past member of Paullina Co-Op Elevator Board, treasurer of Zion Lutheran Church, served on Zion-St. John School, school board and was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church. Over the years, he always loved visits from his family, coffee with his friends, and a good game of cards. He constantly amazed us with his wit and humor, and always had a funny story, or clever remark. He loved his family dearly and was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Weber passed away peacefully and entered his heavenly home at Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, IA on February 1, 2024, reaching the age of 92 years, 10 months and 15 days. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Survivors include Debra (Bruce French) Jorgensen-Mark (friend Amanda and Zaiden and Zander) Jorgensen, Kyle (Destiny) Madison, Mariah and Allen Jorgensen, and Tyler (Ashley) Kailey, Natalie and Andrew Jorgensen; Pamela (Rick) Kaul-Ryan (Hillary) Olivia, Taylor, and Brynn Laughery, Christina (Ryan) Colin, Ainsley and Finley O’Hare, Derek (Katie) Theo Laughery; Gary (Peg) Koester-Brandi (Tim) Anders Sestak, Jen Wall and Tyson, Michael Koester; Tracey (Tom) Feldotto-Conner (Emilee) Feldotto, Sara Feldotto; Cindy (Jay) Griebel-Jackson Griebel, Jacob Griebel, Jayden Griebel; Janey (Mike) Brooner-Stephanie (fiancé Kyle) Brooner, Lucy Brooner; stepchildren Cynthia Rubenstein (friend Bill) ; Dale (Kathy) Polson-Jessica (Christopher) Asher Miller, Ethan (Chelsea) Polson, Emily Polson (friend Jon), Julia (Ben) Spera; Eric (Carol) Polson-Bedilu Polson, and many other relatives and friends.
Loved ones greeting Weber in heaven were his wives JoAnne and Harriet Joan, son-in-law Larry Jorgensen and granddaughter Kelly Laughery.
