Judith “Judi” E. Jackson – Sutherland, Iowa

Services for Judith “Judi” E. Selk Jackson, age 71, of Sutherland who passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Prairie View Home in Sanborn. Her memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland with Pastor David Morris ~ officiating.
Burial will be at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland.
Visitation will follow the service at the church.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.
Judith “Judi” Elaine Selk Jackson the daughter of Burdette and Helen (Negus) Selk was born in Hartley, Iowa on July 6, 1951. She grew up and received her education in Sutherland, Iowa graduating from Sutherland High School in 1969. She attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa for two years receiving a degree in interior design. She moved to Fort Collins Colorado in 1972, where she lived until 1988 and then returned to Sutherland. Judi went back to college to receive a degree in being a medical coder. Upon her graduation she began employment at the Spencer Hospital where she worked for many years until her retirement. Her retirement years were spent in Sutherland. When her health failed, she moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa where she had resided for a week. She passed away at Prairie View on Thursday, March 23, 2023 reaching the age of 71 years, eight months and seventeen days.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sutherland. She enjoyed collecting dolls, flamingos, doing ceramics and was known for being very artistic. Family times were very important to Judi as well as her cat Maggie.
Judi is survived her sister, Jean Pingel of Monticello, Iowa; five nieces and nephews, Tara Johnson, Eric Pingel, Erin Pingel, Lindsey Meyer and Kimberly Pingel also 11 great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Dad, Burdette Selk on July 24, 2000, her mother, Helen Selk on November 11, 2009, and her brother, Steven Selk on January 3, 1998.
