Stout, Farquhar, and Wagner Represent South O’Brien FFA in the Chapter Program Competition

On March 4, 2023, the NW District FFA Leadership contest and convention were held at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.
The chapter program team of Abby Stout, Payton Farquhar, and Grant Wagner first participated in Sub-Districts on February 10. They earned 2nd place, and a gold rating, which was good enough to move on to districts. At the district competition, the team came close to advancing to state, but finished in 3rd place, earned another gold rating, and is the alternate to state.
Teams were given twelve minutes to make their report over their chapter’s activities and accomplishments during the past twelve months, starting January 1st of the event year.
Stout said that she really has enjoyed this competition which is why she has participated in it the past two years. “This contest helped me to step out of my comfort zone, which is something I recommend to all FFA members. Don’t be afraid to try a new contest you’ve never done before,” said Stout. The team was proud to represent the South O’Brien FFA chapter and present on all the accomplishments of the past year.
