Wolverines can’t keep pace with Blackhawks
Hinton scored runs in all but two innings on Monday, June 13th in Paullina. South O’Brien on the other hand could only manage a run in each of the first and fourth innings. The score of the War Eagle Conference match-up ended up 14-2 Blackhawks.
The Hinton pitcher, Jadyn Case, throws the hardest of any pitcher in the conference and she struck out eight Wolverine batters for the night. Grace Fuhrman took the loss on the mound. She pitched 6-1/3 innings and gave up 11 hits and 12 runs (seven earned), walked four and struck out five.
The Wolverine defense didn’t help themselves out much, as they committed seven errors in the field. On the offensive side of things, Fuhrman lead the way with a pair of singles. Kenna Bauer hit a double and Abby Schreck, Jinger Nieuwenhuis and Annika Jenness each had a base hit. Jenness also scored a run.
