Hinton bats are active in baseball win over Wolverines

Hinton collected 16 hits in topping South O’Brien 11-0 June 13 at Paullina. The Blackhawks scored in every inning but the fourth to pick up the War Eagle Conference win.
South O’Brien’s Trevor Fiddelke, Kester Grimm and Boston Riedemann each had a single. Drawing walks to reach base were Riedemann, Dain Moermond and Mitchell Enger.
Starting pitcher Fiddelke went six innings and was charged with the loss. He gave up nine runs on 11 hits with three walks, two strikeouts and two hit batters. Six of the runs were earned. Pete Bottjen’s inning of relief included two earned runs on five hits. He struck out two batters. The Wolverines were guilty of three errors.
