Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn crossed home plate 11 times in the third inning and once in the fourth inning to top South O’Brien 12-0 in four innings of play. The loss dropped the Wolverines to 4-9 on the season.
In the third inning the Wolverines committed five errors. Things just snowballed and we couldn’t get out of that inning. It was very frustrating for everyone.
Kenna Bauer took the loss as she pitched the first 2-2/3 innings. She gave up five hits and 11 runs (two earned), walked two and struck out four. Brooklyn Edwards pitched the last 1-1/3 innings and gave up one hit, one earned run and walked one.
South O’Brien was not putting the ball in play enough and only ended up with two doubles, one each from Annika Jenness and Jinger Nieuwenhuis. Hopefully the woes of this game do not carry over into our next games.
