LIBRARY AUXILIARY MEETING – On Thursday, May 28 members of the Library Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the General N.B. Baker Library. GIVE GENEROUSLY TO HEART DRIVE – The Waterman Achievers 4-H Club reminds you that they will be canvassing Sutherland May 21 & 22, collecting for the American Heart Association. Please be generous.
EXTENSION COUNCIL TO MEET: The O’Brien County Extension Council will meet Tuesday, May 26, 1992, at 7:30 p.m. at the Extension Office in Primghar. The agenda includes update on reorganization plans, personnel reports, and general monthly business. IMMUNIZATION CLINIC – An immunization clinic will be held by O’Brien County Public Health at the Courthouse in Primghar from 2-4 p.m. on Wed., May 27.
South O’Brien Intra-mural Program – A group of people from Sutherland, Primghar, & Paullina are interested in promoting an intra-mural program for the 5th & 6th grade students beginning with the fall of 92. The main purpose of such a program is to promote comradery among the students and to teach them the basic elements of sports. The program would be called South O’Brien Intramural Program and practices and games would be held after school hours, probably once a week. This will not be a school funded or school operated project but will call for volunteer coaching from all 3 districts and be funded through donations and participation fees, if needed.

Class Night Changed At Calumet – Due to a Sioux Valley Conference rescheduling conflict, the Calumet Junior High class night ha s been changed from May 19 to Friday, May 21 at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Don Tisthammer, Area Education Agency 4 Speech and Language Clinician serving the Meriden-Cleghorn, Primghar and Sutherland school districts for the last four year’s, will give the address.
90th Birthday Open House for Delia Steele – An openhouse to honor the 90th birthday anniversary of Mrs. Delia (Borland) Steele will be held Sunday afternoon. May 23 from 2:30 to 5:00 at the Old P.O. Party Room. All friends and relatives are invited.
Sutherland Legion Auxiliary To Make Memorial Sprays – Members of the Sutherland American Legion Auxiliary will meet on Friday, May 28 at 1:30 p.m. in the Legion community building to make poppy decorated sprays to decorate the graves of our veterans on Memorial Day. Any children as well as adults who would like to help decorate graves on Monday, May 31 are welcome and are asked to be at the Legion building by 9 a.m.

School Vacation Begins 25th; Early Dismissal – The 1971-72 school season comes to a close Thursday afternoon, May 25. The Calumet Junior High will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. The Sutherland Community Elementary and High School will dismiss at 2:15 p.m.
Camp Fire Day Camp In Sutherland – In June Mrs. Bill Burns attended a Day Camp Training day at Boone at Camp Hantesa last Friday. She was appointed Site Director. There will be a Day Camp for the Camp Fire Girls in the Sutherland Park through the third week of June. It will be for one week. The plans sound most interesting and the girls are asked to make their own plans to attend and to contact Mrs. Burns as soon as possible.
