The South O’Brien track and field girls won a pair of sprint events and finished fifth as a team at the Ridge View Relays held April 5 at Holstein. Willa Sickelka captured the 200 meters and teamed up with Abby Schreck, Karlee Warnke and Kenna Bauer to place first in the 4×100 relay. The Wolverines totaled 66 points. Lawton-Bronson topped the 12-team varsity field with a point total of 133.
Sickelka finished second in the 100 meters. In the discus Grace Fuhrman was third and Clara Larsen eighth. Karlee Warnke took fifth in the long jump. The high jump saw Alyssa VanBeek place eighth and Regan Draper ninth. Draper was also seventh in the 400 meters.
Second place was earned by the distance medley relay of Kenna Bauer, Warnke, Sickelka and Taja Conley. Placing fourth were the 4×400 relay unit of Taja Conley, Schreck, Takara Conley and Bauer and the 4×800 relay quartet of Fuhrman, Regan Draper, Elodie Wilson and Mariella Smith. Schreck, Riley Draper, Marissa Ebel and Bauer combined to finish fifth in the shuttle hurdle relay.
