MMCRU rolls on, tops Wolverine girls


MMCRU improved to 18-0 with a 60-21 win over South O’Brien February 1 at Paullina. The Royals remained on track toward a February 8 showdown with Unity Christian to determine the winner of the War Eagle Conference.
The Wolverines struggled from the field with only seven baskets in 41 attempts to shoot 17 percent. They hit two of 14 three-point attempts and were 5-of-10 at the free throw line. MMCRU was 23-of-52 from the floor for 44 percent. That included going 6-for-22 from downtown. The Royals made eight of 11 charity tosses.
Riley Draper and Tatiana Conley each scored six points. Alyssa Van Beek added five points, Abby Schreck three and Marissa Ebel one. Takara Conley recorded two assists.
Tatiana Conley grabbed nine rebounds and Van Beek three. The 13 Wolverine steals included four by Draper, two each by Schreck, Van Beek, Takara Conley and Tatiana Conley and one by Ebel. There were 16 turnovers by the Royals and 22 by South O’Brien.
