Jordon Jenness Won By Fall Over Sibley Ocheyedan’s 160 Pounder Keegan DeZeeuw At The Siouxland Conference Tourney.

It Came Up Tails Here For Brennan Boltjes And Sheldon/South O’Brien’s Josh Hoffman Went On To Pin The West Lyon Wrestler And Advance To The 106 Pound 1st Place Match At The Siouxland Conference Tourney.

Three Sheldon/South O’Brien wrestlers were crowned conference champions as the Siouxland Conference Tournament was conducted January 28 at Sioux Center. Winning their weight classes were Coy DeBoer at 132 pounds, Cason Johannes at 145 and Jarrett Roos at 170.
The Orabs finished seventh in the team standings. Their 124 points left them just short of sixth-place Sioux Center which totaled 125.5. The team champion was West Lyon with a winning total of 179.5.
DeBoer received a bye into the semifinal round where he won a 12-2 major decision over Aiden Jennings of West Lyon). In the 1st Place Match the junior scored another major decision victory, this time by an 11-1 margin over MOC-Floyd Valley’s Gerson Ramos.
Johannes pinned his way to a conference championship. The first to fall was Jayme Van Wyhe of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock in 42 seconds. The Orab senior’s semifinal victim was West Lyon’s Ben Bahnson in 1:08. The 1st Place Match reached the 3:31 mark before Johannes won by fall over Kooper Huss of MOC-Floyd Valley.
Competition for Roos began in the semifinal round. That was where it took 1:57 for the sophomore to pin Graham Eben of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock. Roos faced Jesse Bockman in the 1st Place Match and pinned the Okoboji/HMS senior in 2:39.
Josh Hoffman finished second at 106 pounds, losing a tight 1st Place Match by fall to Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Kayne Julius in 4:25. Pins were Hoffman’s friend in his first two matches as he won by fall over Sioux Center’s Jett VanEs in 4:20 and over West Lyon’s Brennan Boltjes in 2:58.
There were five other place winners for Sheldon/South O’Brien. Tyson Getting finished fourth at 138 pounds and Jordon Jenness placed fifth at 160. Sixth-place finishers were Ethan Jager at 126, Eddie Millan at 152 and Keaton Sampson at 195.
