South O’Brien finished second behind a strong MMCRU track and field team at the South O’Brien Mid-Season Meet held April 11 at Paullina. The Wolverines scored 151 points with MMCRU amassing 199.
The host team captured both individual hurdle events with Brennan Billick winning the 110s and Conley the 400s. Conley was second in the 400 meter dash and the high jump. Also placing second were Damian Villarreal in the long jump, Brett Evans in the 200 meters and the distance medley relay of Villarreal, Asa Flinders, Brody Van Beek and Gabe Moermond.
Evans and Jaden Kreber tied for third in the high jump. Other individual third-place finishes were turned in by Cole Tjossem in the 100 meters, Evans in the 400, Kreber in the 800, Trayton Cobb in the 3200 and Billick in the 400 hurdles. Relays which finished third were thee 4×100 of Jordan Jenness, Caden Wittrock, Cole Cox and Tjossem, the 4×400 of Wittrock, Moermond, Kreber and Tjossem and the 4×800 of Moermond, Kreber, Austin Negus and Corbin Warnke.
