Sheldon/South O’Brien collected two wins and narrowly missed a third in competition at the Alta-Aurelia Duals Tournament held January 20 at Alta. The Orabs defeated West Monona-Whiting 40-36 and downed Manson Northwest Webster 45-36. The loss came to the host Warriors by a score of 42-40.
Winners by fall in the dual with West Monona-Whiting were Dominic Rounds at 132 pounds, Mitchel Fischer at 165 and Kolt Roos at 175. Jack Leng captured an 8-0 major decision. Victors by way of forfeit were Josh Hoffmann at 126, Jarrett Roos at 190 and Zach Brinkman at 215.
Recording pins against the Cougars were Hoffmann, Rounds, Jarrett Roos and Leng, along with Devin Van Regenmorter at 157 pounds and Landon Sietstra at 215. Fischer won a 6-0 decision and Kolt Roos was a winner by forfeit.
There were four more pins in the loss to Alta-Aurelia. They came from Hoffmann, Van Regenmorter, Fischer and Kolt Roos. Cole Cox registered a 14-2 major decision at 138. The Warriors forfeited to Jarrett Roos and also to Machael Deleon at 285.
