Sheldon/South O’Brien hosted a wrestling quadrangular January 16 at Sheldon. The invitees were Akron-Westfield, Hinton and Westwood. All three were able to pick up dual victories over the Orabs with Akron-Westfield winning 53-33, Hinton triumphing 58-15 and the Rebels coming out on top 48-36. Sheldon/South O’Brien did not have wrestlers at three weights: 113, 120 and 150.
Orab wrestlers pinning their Akron-Westfield opponents were Josh Hoffmann at 126 pounds, Mitchel Fischer at 165, Jarrett Roos at 190 and Jack Leng at 285. Landon Sietstra captured a 3-2 decision at 215 and Kolt Roos won when his 175-pound opponent exceeded the allotted injury time.
Leng was the only winner by fall in the dual with the Blackhawks. Jarrett Roos prevailed by way of a 4-3 decision and Hoffmann won by forfeit.
The Westwood dual again saw Leng execute a pin. Also winning by fall were Fischer, Kolt Roos, Jarrett Roos and Zach Brinkman at 215 pounds. Alexis Ocampo picked up a win by forfeit at 106.
