First-year coach Justin Weiland welcomes back four returning starters from last year’s squad, which posted an 8-17 record. Junior center Allison Van Gorp (Pella, Pella Christian HS) is a two-time American Rivers all-conference honoree while guard Abby Johnson (junior Ankeny) was Central’s Offensive Player of the Year. Van Gorp shared Defensive Player of the Year honors with senior guard Kassidi Steel (New Sharon, North Mahaska HS).
The Dutch open the season Nov. 10 against Wis.-Stout at the Eau Claire Tip-Off Tournament in Eau Claire, Wis.
