Patricia Kilts • Sheldon, Iowa
Services for Patricia Kilts, age 77, of Sheldon, formerly of Primghar who passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Vista Prairie at Fieldcrest in Sheldon. 
A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.
Patricia Kilts, the daughter of Julius and Lola (Mayou) Long was born on July 28, 1946, in Hartley, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from Arnolds Park High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Von Kilts on February 10, 1964, in Arnolds Park. After their marriage the couple remained in the area until moving to Primghar. Von and Pat began working at O’Brien County Sheriff’s office together where Pat was the Matron and female jailor for many years. The couple retired in 2003. Von preceded Pat in death on April 22, 2023. Pat moved to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon in 2020. Pat passed away at Fieldcrest on Friday, October 13, 2023, reaching the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 15 days.
Pat enjoyed sewing and knitting and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Angie Smith of Sheldon, and Aaron and Tracey Kilts of Primghar; grandchildren, Stephany Smith, Shane Smith, Amanda Wieman, Sawyer Smith, Patricia, Elle and Morgan Kilts; great grandchildren, Taija Hewett, Karma Smith, Weston Smith, Tay Lindgren, Theordore and Josie Smith; two sisters, Pam Grean of Licking, Missouri and Lynn Nelson of Yankton, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Rick Kilts; also, other relatives and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Von, son-in-law, Steve Smith; sister, Sharon Rehan; brother, Dino Long; brothers-in-law, Windy Kilts, Nick Grean and George Curtis.
