Letter To The Editor
To whom it may concern:
My name is Pam Hill. I worked as Deputy City Clerk in Paullina for eleven years.I listen to the City Council meetings online whenever I get the chance. We have a new City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk. They need our support.
My husband was on the City Council for eleven years. It’s not always easy making decisions that will effect the whole town but it can also be very rewarding.
I have seen a lot of good things happen this past week as far as people cleaning up their residences, an old house in my neighborhood also was removed. The Johnson property will be cleaned up soon. Many homes are getting new siding or paint. There have been at least four homes on Maple Street that have been renovated.
The wheels of government turn slowly, things don’t happen overnight. It takes perserverance and a lot of time to make changes happen.
Instead of working against the City Council why not try to be supportive and have a little patience.
It’s not easy to find people who are willing to give their time to being Mayor, or being on the Council. We should be thankful for the Mayor, City employees, and the City Council.
If I would have had a vote on where to publish the Council minutes, I would have voted to publish them in the paper where the majority of the Paullina people would see them. That seems like common sense to me.
Let’s try to keep personalities and vendetta’s out of the equation and all work together for our town.
Pam Hill
