Scott Rinehart, O’Brien County Engineer reported work on M12 for 1 mile south of Dog Creek to do patching will close the road. Patching on B62 south of Calumet is coming to a close and 350th Street from Silver to Sorrel will be closed for grading.
Property and Liability insurance rates for the coming fiscal year beginning July 1 were presented by Tom Fuoss of Perspective Insurance. The Workman’s Compensation Insurance premium will see an increase of 4% despite an overall payroll cut of $362,431. The justification for the increase was the county’s claim experience. The experience rating was up to 1.08.
Property and liability insurance got a lot of discussion. The supervisors with faced with the choice of potentially insufficient coverage for county property, including vehicles, equipment and buildings. The court house is the property creating the most intrigue. Its valuation is very difficulty to determine. The choice was between leaving the premium the same with deductibles and valuations unchanged or increase the valuations for more appropriate coverage for current property valuations. Supervisors chose to increase coverage. The premium increased from $374,810 to $425,271.
