Thursday June 15 is opening night of the 2023 Primghar Cobblestone Day celebration. The Father’s Day weekend full of fun kicks off on Thursday at 5:30 at the City Park. Big Acai truck will be there serving their healthy treast from 5:00-7:00pm. The annual volleyball tournament begins at 5:30. First National Bank is popping up some popcorn and candy for kids to enjoy with a movie. This event begins at 6:30 at the ball fields.
The always tasty tavern luncheon served up by the hospital auxiliary is on again at the Primghar Community Building. Lunch is served from 11:00 until 1:pm on Friday June 16. Friday evening is the big fun at Cobblestone Days. Figure 8 races begin at 7:00pm. The bi-weekly event all summer long is affordable for the whole family. Come cheer on you favorite racer or racing family. Races on June 16 begin at 7:00pm.
LIke much of Cobblestone Days, “The Cobblestone” on the square is hosting the street dance. “The Cobblestone” is located on the south side of Primghar’s square. The doors open at 8:00pm with dancing starting at 9:00pm. Dance to the sounds of “Rock a la Carte”. Tickets are $10 each. Must be 21 to enter. Taco Torres food truck will be there too.
Congratulations to Lincoln Crouch, the 2023 parade Grand Marshall. The parade begins at 11:00am Saturday June 17. The parade route begins at the north end of Primghar on North Hayes Street. Entries will travel south on Hayes to the sheriff’s office at 1st Street, and wander around part of the square to Green Street where it breaks up around 3rd Street SW. The parade is always a big hit.
The vendor show follows lunch and the parade at the Community Building from 1;00 to 4:00pm. This vendor show fills its space with unique merchandise and homemade goods. Don’t miss it. Lunch options on the square, yes! Pizza Ranch and food trucks galore! Kids Kampus is serving lunch at the Community Building. Get a sneak peak at the vendor wares while there. Brady’s Food Truck, JW’s Food Truck and Pam Fuller’s ice cream shop are all expected to be on the square Saturday afternoon.
The square will be busy with activity all afternoon. The car show starts at 12:30 with the burnout contest following. Inflatables, facepainting, scavenger hunt and train rides will keep the kids busy. The Primghar Library is offering a craft from 2:00 to 3:00pm. The bags tournament starts at 1;30. Bob & Scott’s is capping off the afternoon at 3:30 with watermelon.
Go home. Clean up. Rest up and start again. Cruise night begins at 7:00pm. Details are available throughout Primghar.
