Big first inning propels Ridge View past Wolverines
Ridge View struck for runs early and made it hold up in a 7-2 win over South O’Brien June 6 at Paullina. The Raptors tallied six times in the first inning and added another run in the second.
The big offensive blow for the Wolverines was a solo home run by Boston Riedemann in the third inning. Riedemann scored again in the fifth inning. His walk was followed by a base hit from Ben Woodall and another walk, this one issued to Dain Moermond. With the bases full, Mitchell Enger was hit by a pitch, forcing in the run.
Woodall had two hits in the game. Enger and Gabe Moermond each recorded a single.
Going the distance on the mound was Woodall. He surrendered 13 hits and all seven runs were earned. Dueces were wild for Woodall as he struck out two batters, walked two and hit two. The Wolverines were charged with no errors.
