Takara Conley Finished Fifth In The 1500 Meter Run As South O’Brien Hosted The WEC Meet.

Taylor Wulf Was The Sixth Place Finisher In The WEC Meet 800 Meter Run.

The South O’Brien girls 4×200 meter relay group proved to be the best in the conference. The team of Karlee Warnke, Camryn Strubbe, Avery Halverson and Taja Conley earned a conference championship in the event with a first-place finish at the War Eagle Conference Meet which was held May 1 at Paullina.
Just missing that distinction were runners-up Maddie Johnson in the shot put and three relays: the 4×100 and the sprint medley, both with Karlee Warnke, Camryn Strubbe, Kelsee Warnke and Taja Conley and the distance medley of Kelsee Warnke, Strubbe, Avery Halverson and Takara Conley.
Those events went a long way toward giving the Wolverines 74 team points. That was good for a third-place finish. Hinton and Unity Christian were tied for the team points lead entering the final event, the 4×400 relay. The Blackhawks won the event and finished with 165 points. Unity Christian was relegated to the runner-up spot with a 163 total.
Placing third in the 4×400 was the Wolverine unit of Halverson, Addison Hedberg, Kelsee Warnke and Reese Farquhar. The shuttle hurdle relay was also third with Marissa Ebel, Abigail Nelson, Tawni Wulf and Hedberg. An individual third-place finish was recorded by Karlee Warnke in the long jump.
