A trio of event wins by the South O’Brien boys track and field team thrilled the home crowd at the Wolverine Relays May 4 at Paullina. Boston Riedemann captured the 110 meter hurdles and Willie Conley finished first in the high jump. The duo teamed up with Grant Wagner and Brennan Billick to best the competition in the shuttle hurdle relay.
Those results helped the Wolverines score 70 points, good for fourth place in the team race. Sioux Central topped the team standings with a 112 total. The event was halted following the boys 200 meter dash due to inclement weather.
Jacob Van Lith turned in the second best effort in the long jump. Placing third was the sprint medley relay of Van Lith, Cole Tjossem, Hudson Oolman and Conley. Finishing fourth were Mitchell Enger in the discus and Tjossem in the 100 meter dash. Another fourth-place finish went to the distance medley relay unit of Jordan Jenness, Caden Wittrock, Brody Van Beek and Jaden Kreber.
