South O’Brien girls collect win over Sioux Central golfers
The South O’Brien Girls Golf Team defeated Sioux Central 215-222 in a non-conference dual on Tuesday, April 25 at Primghar. Although Sioux Central’s Kendra Casey took medalist honors with a 39, the Wolverines earned the other three medals. Senior Sam Wilbur shot a season-best 47 to take the runner-up medal. Senior Whitney Einck took 3rd with a 49, to earn her 6th medal of the season. Wolverine coach Kris Faust said, “It’s great to see Sam and Whitney both hitting in the 40s as we close out the regular season. They can be competitive at the conference meet and in post-season play if they continue to play well.”
Freshman Lindsey Einck tied her season best with a 56 to grab the 4th place medal after a handicap card playoff with Sioux Central’s Halle Laursen, who also shot a 56. Other cards for the Wolverines included sophomore Addison Brueggeman with a 63 and freshman Chloe Hustedt with a 67.
