FFA State Poultry Judging Champions

Members of South O’Brien FFA attended the FFA Leadership Conference. Mr. Kumm charged the high school students to join him in the “Chicken Dance” before announcing the State Championship Poultry Judging team.
“Something happened yesterday that I wasn’t expecting,” started FFA Coach Eric Kumm, adding, “Apparently the guys were. We have here at South O’Brien the State Champion Poultry Judging Team.”
Kumm went on to explain the Iowa competition is the largest poultry judging contest in the county. There were 144 teams and 526 individuals competing. The win came as a big surprise to Mr. Kumm.
Leo Sells, 3rd place and 1st in the further processed poultry. Hudson Oolman, 4th place; 16th place Dain Moermond and Dante Johnson brought in 41st place. Collectively, their scores put the team at the top of the scoring.
