Paullina Golf Club Officers Reelected – The annual meeting of the PaulHna Golf Club was held on Sunday evening at Lange’s Cafe with a smorgasbord dinner served to 72 persons. Vernon Fintel was reelected as president of the Golf Club to serve for another year. D.S. Robinson was reelected vice president and Mrs. Paul Koch was reelected secretary-treasurer. Russ Anderson and Eugene Render were elected to the Board of Directors. They will succeed Darrell Shirk and Dave Platt.
Jaycees To Hold Scholarship Dance – The Paullina Jaycees will hold a Scholarship Dance on Saturday, April 7 at the American Legion Building near Paullina. Proceeds of the dance will be used for two $100 scholarships to be awarded in May. The Jaycees have decided to give a $100 cash scholarship to a 1973 Paullina graduating senior boy and a senior girl. The Paullina School faculty will make the selection of the boy and girl. The criteria will be based first on need, then on citizenship with scholastic ability the last factor to be judged. This cash scholarship carries a proviso that the selected scholarship winners must enroll in a school to further their education. This is not limited to college, as a vocational school will be an accepted enrollment. The Jaycee Scholarship Awards will be presented at Awards Day, May 16. Contributions will be accepted for this Scholarship Fund. If you wish to make a donation you are asked to contact Richard Fiddelke.
Women’s Club To Hold Salad Luncheon 23rd – The Paullina Women’s Club will hold a salad luncheon on Friday, March 23 at the Paullina library Community Building. Hours of the luncheon will be from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Price for the luncheon will be $1.00 for adults, 50 cents for grade school children and pre-schoolers free. This is a change from the incorrect price reported last week. There will be three $5.00 gift certificates to be given away as door prizes. Proceeds of the salad luncheon will be used for assisting the Town in their tree buying program.
Charles Bachman Named Fall Scholar – Charles Edward Bachman, son of Mr. end Mrs. Merle Bachman’, 428 South Mickley, Paullina, has been honored for academic achievement at Valparaiso University, 40 years ago – 1983
Dinner Theatre At Germantown – The Community Theater of Paullina, Germantown and Marcus is pleased to announce production dates of the play, “The Humpty Dumpty Complex.” This 3 act romantic fantasy, by the well known playwright, Richard Dotter, will be presented on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, March 26-28. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. in the St. John gym in Germantown. On Sunday and Monday, dinner theater will be offered between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Lloyd’s of Germantown as well as general admittance to the play at 7:30. Tickets for the dinner theater are limited and must be purchased in advance at Nagel’s Apparel Shop in Marcus (phone 376-2311) or Casual Closet in Paullina (phone 448-3611). Vandalism in Paullina – A rash of vandalism occurred in the Paullina area this past weekend. The first incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on March 12. The car used in the Car on the Ice contest was pulled out of Lake Paullina. A cable was broken and the parking area was torn up in this incident. Charges are pending at this time. In another incident involving a car, a feed bunk and two water tanks, A feed bunk owned by the Paullina Building Center was pushed two blocks and smashed . Damage was estimated to be $271. Two water tanks owned by Paullina Hatchery were also damaged to the extent of $140.
