United Church of Primghar invites you to join in their celebration of the completion of a year-long study. The study centered around the book, “Core 52” by Mark. E. Moore. Six churches in Primghar and Paullina developed small groups for the activity to learn to master in 15 minutes each day the “Bible’s most important verses.”
According to Pastor Mike Cooper, 120 of the books were out in the county being read with 70-80 individuals participating in the journey. Small group studies were organized in United Church of Primghar, Primghar Church of Christ, American Reformed Church of Primghar, St. Anthony Catholic and Paullina First Presbyterian Church.
“Events like this bring community togetherness. There is connection of including other churches. It a way to stay together,” said Cooper. He described the participants as all ages, from young, early 20s to their 80s.
To celebrate reaching the 1-year of study advocated in “Core 52” the community decided to host a recognition event. The event, “End of Summer Bash” celebrates “doing things together,” noted Cooper. This study was to promote personal growth for the participants.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday September 7 beginning at 5:00pm at the O’Brien County Fairgrounds. Food will be available from 2 food truck and Pam’s [Fuller] ice cream truck from 5:00-7:00pm. Bouncy Houses for kids will be set up not far from the stage from 5:00-6:30.
A comedian and a musician are also scheduled to perform. Entertainment begins a 6:30 until 8:30pm. Christian comedian, Tim Boyd will entertain at this event in Primghar as part of his “amber waves of grain” comedy tour. Tim has entertained in Nebraska and South Dakota. He is the lead Pastor of Westside Christian Church and resides in Bradenton, FL. He features clean comedy that appeals to everyone from 12 to 112.
Singer Songwriter Jacob Daniel was selected as the 2015 Talent Search winner of the Hills Alive music festival. Daniel has released 2 albums, “Wonderfully Made” in 2014 and “Storm This Castle” in the summer of 2016. Daniel most recently released the single “Your Word Has Power” in 2020. Jacob is the Director of Youth and College ministries at Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD.
