South O’Brien finally got the bats going after a long struggle on the offensive side all week long. They collected 11 team hits and ended the game 12-0 on the mercy rule in the third inning against Sioux City West to improve to 3-5 on the season.
Abby Schreck hit a triple and a single, scored two times and had an RBI. Marissa Ebel also had a triple and a single, scored twice and had two RBI’s. Payton Farquhar had a pair of singles, an RBI and two runs. Alyssa Van Beek hit a double, scored twice and had an RBI. Collecting singles were Kenna Bauer, Shay Hatting, Grace Fuhrman and Sam Wilbur.
Bauer only allowed one hit to take the win on the mound. She struck out four and did not walk any. The Wolverines did not commit a single error on defense. Schreck made a fantastic diving catch from her catcher’s position to highlight the defense. Hopefully this game will lift us up to perform at this high level going forward.
