The Sutherland Park Board is excited and appreciative for the grant received from the Sutherland Community Fund for $500. The grant was awarded to the Park Board for a joint community activity between the Park Board and the Sutherland Library. The grant funds were used to purchase materials to build two raised garden beds. The beds were placed on the west side of the Sutherland Library.
Out of the two beds available, one has already been claimed with no announcements made about their availability. One bed remains. As the end of planting season the Park Board would like anyone interested in planting and caring for a 3×6 foot planter box to email them at sutherlandiapark@gmail.com. If emailing is not your favorite communication method you may call O’Brien County’s Bell-Times-Courier at 712-949-3622 to reserve the last available, easily accessible raised planter box.
