Sanborn Golf and Country Club hosted three teams April 28. I wasn’t sure if we were going to get tonight’s meet in or not, but the rain held off long enough to get it in. We played the last couple of holes in the rain but it wasn’t too bad.
We played a double dual tonight with Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn and Sioux Central. South O’Brien defeated HMS 183-184 and downed the Rebels 183-208. In our War Eagle Conference dual vs. HMS, senior Kaedon Louscher earned medalist honors after winning the 2nd playoff hole of sudden death in the rain. David Bottjen and Derek Paulsen tied for 3rd with a 46 and David took 3rd after going to a card playoff. Brecken Coady finished with a 48 and Traven Bahrenfuss and Carter Halverson each finished with a 49.
In our dual vs. Sioux Central, Kaedon finished 2nd, David 3rd, and Derek 4th. This is the first time this season that all six golfers finished in the 40s and we’re peaking at the right time. I know the guys are excited about finishing the regular season strong and rolling into tournament time playing our best golf.
