South O’Brien defeated Harris-Lake Park 178-199 April 28 on a windy night at Primghar Golf & Country Club. The 178 is by far our lowest team score of the year. Seniors Kaedon Louscher and Brecken Coady finished 1st and 2nd after shooting a 42 and 44. Along with senior Traven Bahrenfuss, they’ve both been great leaders and have been solid for us all year long. Freshman Derek Paulsen and Carter Halverson just missed out on medals tonight by finishing in a tie for 5th with a 46. Both of their games have been progressing nicely this spring and I feel like they’re both way ahead of schedule. They’re doing a great job of letting the bad shots go and moving on to the next shot. Bahrenfuss and David Bottjen each shot 54.
