South O’Brien’s girls headed west to Hawarden April 21 to participate in the Stephanie Streit Memorial Track Meet, hosted by West Sioux. The Class 1A Wolverines scored 58.5 points and finished sixth, trailing teams from Class 2A and 3A. Kingsley-Pierson/Woodbury Central won the meet with a 131 total.
The highest finish was turned in by Willa Sickelka, who placed second in the 200 meters. Recording third-place finishes were the Distance Medley Relay, Karlee Warnke in the long jump and Sickelka in both the 100 and 400 meters.
Placing fourth were Takara Conley in the 1500 meters and Taja Conley in the 400 meter hurdles. South O’Brien also saw fourth-place finishes in the 4×100, 4×800 and shuttle hurdle relays.
In fifth were the 4×400 and sprint medley relays along with Alyssa Van Beek in the high jump. Maddie Johnson finished sixth in the shot put.
