Many contribute to Wolverine high point total in win over Harris-Lake Park

South O’Brien notched its highest point total of the season in blasting Harris-Lake Park 55-24 December 21 at Paullina. The previous high water mark of 45 points had come in a win over Trinity Christian. With the victory, the Wolverines even their War Eagle Conference record at 2-2. The team takes a 2-7 record into the Christmas break.
“I thought we did a really good job moving the ball around offensively and did a good job rebounding,” remarked South O’Brien head coach Erica Dreckman.
The balanced Wolverine attack was led by Willa Sickelka and Alyssa Van Beek who each scored 12 points. Kenna Bauer finished with eight points, Taja Conley seven and Riley Draper five. Sam Wilbur and Takara Conley each contributed four points with Tatiana Conley scoring two and Abby Schreck one. No other stats were available at press time.
South O’Brien scored the final 10 points of the first quarter to take a 16-4 lead. The advantage grew to 26 points at 31-5 and the Wolverines carried a 33-8 lead into halftime. The score was 41-14 after three quarters. South O’Brien’s largest lead of 34 points came late in the game.
