Wolverine boys get off to 3-0 start with win over Sheldon
South O’Brien won a Saturday matinee over Sheldon, defeating the Orabs 47-35 December 4 at Paullina. The Wolverines finished their first week of the season with a 3-0 record.
The winners got 10 points from Hudson Oolman, eight from both Jacob Van Lith and Sawyer Honkomp, seven from David Bottjen and six each from Ben Woodall and Jake Wallin. Hudson also contributed three assists and two steals. Wallin snatched 10 rebounds, assisted on two baskets and blocked a pair of shots. Oolman and Van Lith were active on the boards with five rebounds apiece.
The Wolverines were 17-of-42 from the field for 41 percent. They made five of 14 three-point tries and were 8-of-12 at the charity stripe. The visitors from the Siouxland Conference were 3-of-4 at the free throw line and 4-of-16 from beyond the arc. Overall, the Orabs were successful on 14 of their 39 field goal attempts for 36 percent. The turnover column showed 15 for Sheldon and eightfor the Wolverines.
